Many people think that Nigerians are top on the list of new migrants that Canada welcomes with open arms every year. But Nigeria ranked a distant 7th on that list in 2016, though by 2017, they had moved up fast to the 3rd place. It might interest you to note that India and China have sustained their lead on that list (in 1st and 2nd place respectively) with as many as over 36,000 Indians immigrating to Canada in 2017 alone.
