Kenkwo to Nigeria Police: "Are you comfortable?"

KKK

AN OPEN LETTER TO OFFICERS OF THE NPF

By: Kenkwo Kingsley Kesaandu

My dear Gallant Officers,

RE: THE PLANNED SECOND PROTEST FOR A NEW AND BETTER NIGERIA

Let me start by appreciating all your sincere efforts towards protecting lives and properties of the citizens of our country.

Sometime last year, youths across the country went to the streets, expressing their displeasure over the way some of you have been treating them like they were common criminals. These same youths that went through torture and were also murdered in cold blood, by some of you, are your brothers and sisters. They are the same people you took an oath to protect their lives and properties.

Unfortunately, on the 20th day of October, 2020, you watched same brothers and sisters being massacred by a firing squad like common criminals and you were no where to be found to protect them, perhaps you watched cum supervised it.

The questions are; who is the direct beneficiary of the protest? My dear gallant officers, are you happy with the way our government is treating you? Is your welfare being properly taken care of? Are you earning the right salaries? Aside being a police officer, are you happy with the state of the nation? Are you not buying from this same market that the government through their unfriendly policies have made uncomfortable for all? Is the increase in the price of PMS and electricity not affecting you? Are you comfortable with the state of our roads? Deep down you, if you have the opportunity to take your children out of the country, won't you?

When you critically and sincerely answer the above questions and more, you will agree with me that the #End_SARS protest, is not for one's self but for all. Please note that I agree that protests, despite being a right as enshrined in the Constitution, should be done peacefully within ambits of the law.

Till today, the massacre that happened at the Lekki toll gate on that 20th day of October, 2020 has not been properly addressed and no justice for the fallen heroes.

My dear gallant officers, what if it was your own blood relative that was killed?

The same people responsible for the quagmire we are into as at today in Nigeria, have also instructed that you empty your Arsenal and wait for your brothers and sisters tomorrow, whose only sin is the good governance they seek.

I am certain that your AK47(s) and other weapons that should have been used to flush out bandits and terrorists in our country are ready to be used to waste more lives tomorrow if the protest holds.

They made the country uncomfortable for us, could not pay you good salaries and allowances and none of their children stays here with us and when they are finally equipped and sophisticated abroad, you will turn to be errand boys and these children will still have no regards for you.

All I am saying is that, when you see these your brothers and sisters tomorrow who want the best for all us, please protect them, show them love and care and never allow them to be hurt.

All they are doing is for the good, growth and development of Nigeria. We want a country that we shall handover to the next generation and be proud that we did.

Tomorrow will also go down in history as a day you opened fire on yourselves because an injury to one is an injury to all, or a day when you refused to kill harmless citizens as they were pursuing a genuine course.

The truth remains that everyday of our lives, as long as we remain in this country, is protest day, because nothing seems to be working whereas our leaders are getting richer, the masses are getting poorer.

Nobody, including the leaders of the country is more Nigerian than another.

Protect your people and posterity will forever smile at you.

NIGERIA MUST BE GREAT AGAIN.
