Trump confirms he will not be attending Biden's inauguration

Moments ago, US President Donald Trump confirmed that he will not be attending the inauguration of President-Elect Joe Biden on January 20th.

He gave the confirmation via a tweet saying "To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th."

It remains to be seen, however, whether Vice President Mike Pence will be attending the event. 

After a hard-fought presidential election battle which came to an end last Wednesday, and the President's latest statement, the chances seem bleak that he will extend the customary invitation to Biden for a meeting at the White House as a show of unity ahead of the inauguration day.
