#CHURCHTALK 38: Everything we do matters

As saints of the most high, the reason we can't live anyhow, talk anyhow, dress anyhow, etcetera, is not primarily in order to be acceptable before men, but because it is pleasing unto God and is our worship too.

Matthew 5:16 [KJV]

Let your light so shine before men, that THEY MAY SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS, and GLORIFY YOUR FATHER which is in heaven.

Can you see?

Men need to see our good works to glorify the Father in Heaven.

So, this means that living anyhow, talking anyhow, dressing anyhow, etcetera, does not and can never glorify the Father.

If you profess Christ and His salvation, yet behave lasciviously, for example, any message or minister encouraging you in your lasciviousness, is not helping you. It would be difficult for men to accept you and your ministry. Why? Because such lifestyle does not reveal Christ nor agree with His message.

Hence, saints are not those who say "It doesn't matter". Everything we do matters to God and mankind.

Secondly, another reason why we can't live anyhow, talk anyhow, dress anyhow, etcetera, as saints of the Most High is that we are bought with a price. Hence, we are no longer our own.

WE ARE THE POSSESSION OF CHRIST, AND CHRIST'S BLOOD (LIFE) IS THE PAYMENT FOR OUR NEW LIFE.

1 Corinthians 6:16,20 [KJV]

For YE ARE BOUGHT WITH A PRICE: therefore GLORIFY GOD in your BODY, and in your SPIRIT, which are God's.

Responsibility is on us to Glorify God with our spirit, soul and body.

Hear this: Anything done without the consciousness of Him that loves us, washed us, saved and sanctified us in His blood will make men not to see the beauty of God's salvation work in us.

Therefore, we are debtors to live, speak and act righteously for that's how we were born and are meant to live.

Saints are not those who say, it doesn't matter. Everything we do matters both to God and mankind.

Thirdly, another reason why we can't live anyhow, talk anyhow, dress anyhow, etcetera, is because we are instructed to do/say all we do IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

Colossians 3:17 [KJV]

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, DO ALL IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.

This is saying, you and I are physical representations of JESUS on the earth. Hence, all we do in word and deed should be in His stead.

Ask yourself, before you say your next word or do the next thing you want to do:

  • What would Jesus say/do?
  • Would it be pleasing to God and man?
  • Is your conscience clear before God and men that it is right or wrong?

There is nothing from Genesis to Revelation that suggests or instructs that saints' character, conduct or conversation does not matter.

IT MATTERS BEFORE GOD AND MEN!!!

I certainly matters in the success of the assignment given to us on earth—Soul Winning.

Philippians 1:27

Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ...

It matters as a criterion for Christian leadership. When the Apostles selected and appointed leaders in Acts chapters 1 and 6, character was a critical factor. When Paul wanted Titus to appoint leaders for the Chruch at Crete in Titus chapter 1, again, character was at the center of it all

And finally, it matters if you have truly been saved and surrendered to the Lord.

1 Peter 1:14-15 [KJV]

As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye [remain] holy in all manner of conversation;

A final thought from the scriptures:

1 Timothy 4:12 [KJV]

...but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
