MUSIC VIDEO OF THE WEEK 12: Dream It Possible - Huawei Mobile

So, this week, we're doing something unusual. We're featuring a music video that doesn't belong to an artist, but to a mobile phone brand. Yes, Huawei Mobile.

Huawei Technologies Co. Limited is the world's largest network equipment supplier and a leader in the development of 5G technology. It is a Chinese multinational giant which has operations in the following industries: mobile phones, consumer electronics, telecom equipment, and networking equipment. Founded 33 years ago by Ren Zhengfei, it is headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China.

The company was started humbly in 1987 by Ren with a capital of RMB21,000, and was focused on the manufacturing of phone switches in China at a time when other similar Chinese firms were focused on importing it from foreign countries. Ren had a vision to do what seemed impossible at that time.

And, today, through the sheer force of will, hardwork and dexterity, the company is a global success story.

As at December, 2019, according to Wikipedia, the company reported that it has 194,000 employees worldwide, and $121.72 billion in revenue. This is almost 5 times the annual budget of Africa's largest economy, Nigeria.

In fact, as at the year 2012, Huawei overtook Ericsson to become the largest telecommunications-equipment manufacturer in the world. And in 2018, the company also overtook the US giant, Apple, to become the second-largest manufacturer of smartphones in the world, behind the South Korean giant, Samsung Electronics.

Their brand song, "Dream it possible" is a testament to their success story as a company, and it will inspire you to dare to dream and work on your dreams until they not just come to reality, but a resoundingly successful one too. It was sung by American singer and songwriter, Delacey. The song was written by Andy Love, and recorded in London at Abbey Road Studios.
